September 2007: Workers’ Rights - A Guide for employers
from UHY Wingfield Slater
Company bosses are having to cope with yet more legislation governing the rights of their employees, warns UHY Wingfield Slater, one of Sheffield’s leading independent accountants and business advisers.
Already this year the rights of workers to request flexible working have been extended. And later in the year there will be stricter enforcement of the national minimum wage.
Further employment legislation is on the way, says UHY Wingfield Slater. The Government plans to increase the statutory paid minimum holiday entitlement from 20 to 24 days in October this year. This will rise to 28 days in April 2009.
